Truck
I've been out most of the day working on my truck. He's a 2004 ford F-350 king ranch edition. Installed a new roll bar in the bed behind the box. All nice and black chrome. Took a lot longer then i thought to install.....but then again most things do when i have to do um.
It's the best truck i've ever owned in my 30 some odd years on this planet. A lot of people bash ford but after owning comparable chevys dodges and gmc's This ford big boy is by far the biggest and the toughest.

Generations
I was watching the first TNG trek movie tonight and as always a lot about it pissed me off. Point one being...
A damn 20 year old bird of prey taking out the flag ship of the federation! Anyone else think the Ent-D deserved a better ending then that! I mean yes they way they offed kirk was bad enough...but then they way they took out the Hero ship that we adventured with for seven years was just plain wrong.
I know trek isn't about the ship but the adventures with it. I just think the D deserved a better death if it was absolutely necessary to kill er off. Everything about the move just seemed so close to being good....
There was a great epic epic move in there somewhere but they just failed to deliver on so many levels.

A deal a day a life time away.......
Been sitting pondering all day.
Life and how short it can be. It really just hit me today that it's just me my other two brothers alex's son my wife and an aunt and an uncle back in jolly ol england. Moms family consists of a very very distant great great aunt....she was a single child and her mom and dad passed on when alex and i still wore diapers.
So i guess there is a rapidly dwindling supply of chadwicks in the world.
You do a lot of thinking when you have big scares health wise and i certainly did after mine. It makes you realize what's important in life and what isn't. Some people who might read this know i play a few "role playing games" online. While most would consider those not as important as other things. I guess i consider them important...and my duty to keep up with them. Especially the games Alex was in or created.
When i write for those characters he created and those games he played in....well it's like a little bit of him is still around. I know he has a son and everything. Who i love dearly. It's just that when i visit Futility's End and write the adventures of Captain Davies or Admiral Cash....well it's like Alex is back for a time and i don't feel so alone anymore.
Keep on Trekkin

Angry,Hurt and well armed.....
Been doing a bit of writing while Futility's End has been down. The following is a little piece of something i'm saving for when it comes back.
[Bridge]
[Venture Star]
[High Earth orbit]
[Sol system]
The orbit of sol was filled with all manner of ship and fighter. Renegade ships and starfleet ships engaged in a horrible dance for supremacy over earth. Venture Star bucked and rocked hard from blast after phaser blast directed at it. the dissension was done with a small flotilla of vulcan ships and now turned her attention to venture star. Irish had done her best to keep the ship always moving during the fight, even her impressive skills at the helm didn't seem to be enough. Wouldn't be enough when dissensions massive armaments came to bear.... Hands digging into the arm rests of his command chair Cash had ordered all the renegade fleet ships off of defense of Venture Star to the real objective. Now just moments from what was looking like a fiery death and then the coldness of space he hit the comm button to order an abandon ship.
